Tyler DeVault graduated from Illinois State University with his Master of Social Work in May 2026 after previously earning his bachelor's degree in music education, in 2019, from the same institution. Before transitioning into social work, Tyler worked in the public school system teaching middle and high school band, including marching band, pep band, pit ensemble for spring musicals, and assisting with Madrigal dinners.
Tyler is EMDR trained and strives to incorporate clients’ interests, strengths, and hobbies into the therapeutic process to enhance engagement, connection, and motivation. He is committed to creating a therapeutic environment that is welcoming, supportive, and authentic, where clients feel safe to fully express themselves.
One quote that guides Tyler’s work comes from Amanda Gorman in The Hill We Climb: “For there is always light, if only we’re brave enough to see it. If only we’re brave enough to be it.” When he is not at work, he enjoys cooking, baking, tabletop games, and spending quality time with his family, friends, and two loveable dogs.
