Marty Tarmann

Marty is a blessed woman who married a farm boy some 34 years ago; bringing a WIU girl together with an ISU boy. They enjoyed raising two boys (28 & 31) who graduated from U of I and have wonderful women to love them. She is known as “Mimi” to her 2 year old grandson.
Mary retired from Unit 5 after 36 years as a high school counselor at Normal West; previously at Parkside Jr High and Business teacher at the old NCHS. During those years, she sponsored a girls lock in called RAP each year at PJHS and a Random Acts of Kindness group (RAK) at Normal West. From cheerleading sponsor to social Committee to department chair, Marty found fun everywhere.
She currently keep busy with a little pickleball, book club, Bible study, Befriender through her church, and soon to be a mentor in the McLean County probation department. When she is not giving to others, she loves to create beauty out of other's junk!
