Healing: Community collaboration in response to children affected by violence

ABC is pleased to announce its efforts for a collaborative conference to address the vulnerable youth of central Illinois. This conference will address working with youth impacted by domestic violence and sexual abuse, as well as discussing the multi-disciplinary process of the Children’s Advocacy Center and the child as a witness in court. This training will also help individuals understand the unique dynamics of working with adult survivors of child sexual abuse and domestic violence through a panel presentation. Guest speaker Joshua Phillips will discuss his book 1,800 Miles: Striving to End Sexual Violence, One Step at a Time and his role as a male activist against sexual violence.

ABC’s sixth annual Gifts From the Heart fundraiser will be held on Friday, June 11, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at The Parke Hotel & Conference Center in Bloomington, Illinois. This event will feature raffles and live entertainment featuring 176 Keys Dueling Piano Show.
